Community Guidelines, TOS, Privacy and Policies

Influence.co was created to be an inspiring, useful and supportive community. We have established a series of community guidelines that capture these values. We encourage you to take a look through them in detail but here are the highlights:

  1. Be respectful of everyone on the platform. We come from diverse backgrounds, locations and perspectives on the world.
  2. Add value to every conversation - keep messages relevant to the influence.co community
  3. The community is not a place to request follows or shout for shouts. We have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. 

influence.co is the home for the influencer economy. As such, we want to keep the community safe and inclusive for everyone who participates. Here are some common-sense rules about what sort of behavior we expect and what sort of content is prohibited. We reserve the right to ban anyone who violates these rules – and any additional rules we establish – from participating on influence.co.  

influence.co was created to help all stakeholders participate in the influencer ecosystem. To that end, we encourage you to share your own great influencer content, as well as to like, comment on, and share other great content you find in the community, including AMA’s, webinars and educational content. We DO NOT encourage you to post content that can reasonably be construed to be overly promotional, misleading, or spam. influence.co reserves the right to determine whether or not posted content fits these descriptions and to remove it. 

Here are some ground rules around the specific types of content we do not accept: 

Nudity or sexual content 

influence.co is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your content, do not share it on influence.co. We also work with law enforcement if necessary and will report any child exploitation. 

Content involving or promoting guns, ammunition or any kind of weaponry.

influence.co does not accept content that promotes the use or sale of guns, ammunition or any kind of weaponry. If this describes your content, do not share it on influence.co. We will remove any content that fits this description. 

Content involving tobacco products, cigarettes, smoking or vaping. 

influence.co does not accept content that promotes the use or sale of tobacco products, including cigarettes, smoking or vaping. If this describes your content, do not share it on influence.co. We will remove any content that fits that description. 

Content that promotes the sale or use of any product prohibited by US state or federal law. 

 influence.co is headquartered in the US and must conform to federal and state laws concerning the legality of promoted products and brands. We will not accept content that promotes the sale or use of products that are prohibited by federal or state law. We will remove any content that fits that description. 

Harmful or dangerous content 

Please do not post content that encourages others to do things that might cause them to get hurt, especially kids. Content showing harmful or dangerous acts will be removed. 

Hateful content

Influence.co does not support content that promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, caste, sexual orientation, or gender identity, or content that incites hatred on the basis of these core characteristics. We will remove any content that we decide fits this description. 

Violent or graphic content

influence.co does not permit violent or gory content that is primarily intended to be shocking, sensational, or gratuitous. Content that promotes others to commit specific acts of violence is also prohibited.  We will remove any content that we decide fits this description. 

Harassment and cyberbullying

influence.co does not permit the posting of abusive images, videos or comments. Harassing content and malicious attacks may be reported to [email protected] and will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned from using influence.co. 

Spam, misleading metadata, and scams

Everyone hates spam. Don't create misleading descriptions, tags, titles, or thumbnails in order to promote yourself or products. It is also not permitted to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages. 

Threats

Predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people's personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts are violations of our Terms of Service and are taken very seriously. Anyone caught doing these things will be permanently banned from using influence.co

Copyright

influence.co respects copyright and expects our members to do the same. Please upload only content that you made or that you're authorized to use. Influence.co will comply with any copyright complaints and remove the cited content immediately. 

Privacy

Please do not post personal information or post information about others without their consent. If you feel your privacy has been violated, please alert us at [email protected]. Please visit our Privacy Policy for more information. 

Impersonation

 Accounts that are established to impersonate a company, brand or individual will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned from using influence.co.

Child Safety

In compliance with COPPA, minors under the age of 13 are not permitted to use influence.co. Accounts that are known to be held by minors will be removed. Additionally, influence.co diligently works to preserve child online safety, and will report any suspicious content to the appropriate law enforcement agencies before removing it. 

Gifting Products

Products should always be gifted by the business to the influencer. Under no circumstances should the influencer purchase any product(s) upfront, even with the intent of reimbursement.

Amazon Reviews

In compliance with Amazon’s Selling Terms of Services, we do not allow businesses to ask for Amazon reviews in exchange for payment, free product, discounts, or other gifts. To learn more, visit https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/G201972160


The above ground rules apply to the entire site, but we also have policies that are more specific in their scope. Please read below to see policies that apply specifically to Campaigns, Answers, the Public Community Feed, and Messaging.


Campaigns

Campaign Discovery is where businesses can upload their campaign and attract influencers looking to work with them. Keep in mind that Campaign Discovery is not the place for:

  1. Grievance between a business and influencer, please handle these conversations in private or write into [email protected]
  2. Directing applicants off the influence.co platform by providing an alternative URL or email address for contact. Doing so may make your campaign subject to removal. If your campaign is on hold due to reaching your maximum limit of applicants please reach out to a member of our team here to learn how to fully unlock this functionality.
  3. Personal Fundraisers - Campaigns that promote personal fundraisers will be deleted immediately. influence.co only permits the promotion of 501(c) Charities. If your campaign does not meet these requirements it will be deleted.
  4. Businesses and influencers to solicit work with one another that is not relevant to the current campaign listed
  5. Content featuring adult services or photos that are explicit or depict sexual activity will be deleted immediately.
  6. Businesses or influencers to sell products to one another - Campaign briefs are for openings to work with influencers, not sell to them.
  7. Affiliate links, discount codes, or backlinks for SEO
  8. Operating multiple accounts with overlapping use cases - Creating multiple accounts with the intent of publishing additional campaigns will result in added accounts being disabled. If your campaign is on hold due to reaching your maximum limit of applicants please reach out to a member of our team here to learn how to fully unlock this functionality.
  9. Foreign languages - all communication on public forums should be in English so we can properly enforce our policies
  10. All comments on campaigns must be contextually relevant to the campaign

Answers

Answers is a place for questions and answers generated by all community members. It is a really great feature when used properly. Answers is not the place for:

  1. Affiliate links, discount codes, or backlinks for SEO
  2. Businesses and influencers to solicit work or collaborations with one another
  3. Personal accounts to promote escort services - this type of content should be limited to bios
  4. Poorly formatted content - all questions and answers should be clearly understandable and proofread before posting
  5. Foreign languages - all questions and answers must be posted in English so we can properly enforce our policies.
  6. Clubhouse invites or requests - any posts requesting an invite will be deleted immediately.

The Public Community Feed

The influence.co community feed is used to engage with other members to share knowledge and communicate with others about relevant topics in the influencer or business community. It is not the appropriate place for:

  1. Affiliate links, discount codes, or backlinks for SEO
  2. Promotion of escort services - this type of content should be limited to bios
  3. Foreign languages - comments must be posted in English so we can properly enforce our policies.

Messaging

Private messaging should be used for businesses and influencers to connect and communicate with one another. It is under no circumstances acceptable to:

  1. Send sexual content through attachments
  2. Promote an escort service - this type of content should be limited to bios
