How-to Understand Names and Sizes of Influencers

With so many influencers in all shapes and sizes, the industry has come up with its own terminology to describe influencers by size. While there is some debate around the exact ranges here, the following types of influencers are generally named as follows:

  • Celebrity - usually 1 million or more followers
  • Macro influencers - usually 100,000 to 1 million followers
  • Micro influencers - usually 5,000-100,000 followers
  • Nano influencers - under 5,000 followers
